Influence of Hydrothermal Carbonization on Catalytic Fast Pyrolysis of Agricultural Biomass

Fast pyrolysis has been a subject of intensive research thanks to its ability produce high yields liquid products, known as oil. This is an important renewable intermediate which could be used for the subsequent production fuels and chemicals. For fossil-based materials, oil can provide circular building blocks. Furthermore, direct use in gas turbines also proven feasible. However, relatively oxygen content raw biomass detrimental effects on quality such work proposes hydrothermal carbonization valorization technique, beneficial from point view fast pyrolysis. Within scope this work, influence parameters (HTC) kinetics agricultural (miskanthus), well situ CaO catalyst, investigated. Kinetics investigated using novel type thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) called Cyclonic TGA, able achieve heating rates similar real process. Moreover, HTC removal part inorganic constituents determined within work.
